Belarus can export up to 6bn kWh of electricity to Ukraine per year

The export of Belarusian electricity in 2019, according to Director General of the Belarusian national electric company Belenergo Pavel Drozd, will amount to about 2.35 billion kWh.

Belarusian power grid to reduce natural gas consumption to 4bn m3 thanks to nuclear energy

The executive said: “The country consumes about 20 billion m3 of natural gas on the whole while the power grid consumes 10 billion. Once the two units of the Belarusian nuclear power plant are commissioned, the amount of gas consumed by the power grid will drop to 4 billion.”

According to the source, there are plans to deliver nuclear fuel to the construction site in 2020 in addition to the physical launch and the power startup of the first unit of the nuclear power plant. The unit will then be connected to the power grid.

The official said: “You know, the delivery of nuclear fuel is not a panacea. We are virtually ready to receive it. We will bring it 1-1.5 months ahead of the physical launch to avoid the slowdown of work on the first unit. We will have nuclear fuel delivered in the first quarter of the year.”
Rumas, Medvedev discuss Belarus-Russia integration

A telephone conversation took place between Belarus Prime Minister Sergei Rumas and Russian Premier Dmitry Medvedev on 18 December. The parties discussed the results of the talks between the heads of the working groups set up to develop proposals for further Belarus-Russia integration.
Plans to convert derelict railway bridge in Grodno into automobile one

The railway bridge was built about 40 years ago upon the initiative of the Belarusian army as a backup structure. The railway line leading to the bridge was disassembled over ten years ago. The bridge was abandoned for some time until the decision to convert it into an automobile bridge was made.
Small business share in Minsk Oblast tax revenues at 40%

The deputy head of the oblast administration said: “Last year small business contributed over 33% of the gross regional product. This year we expect the figure to reach 34.2%. On the whole, small business accounts for 40% of the tax revenues.”
