Belarus' export 1.9% down to $23.6bn in January-July

In January-July 2019 Belarus' foreign trade totaled $46.825 billion, 1.7% down from the same period in 2018. Export totaled $23.623 billion (1.9% down), import amounted to $23.202 billion (1.5% down).

Belarus' largest wind farm project attracts $40m in foreign investment

The new wind farm will become the largest wind farm in Belarus and will supply eco-friendly energy to over 20,000 households. Operation of the wind farm within the next 20 years is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 500,000 tonnes.

Belarus government grain procurement target almost met

The Belarusian government has procured 787,000 tonnes of grain, which accounts for 96.6% of the country's grain procurement target for 2019, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.

During the recent visit of Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Minsk, the two heads of state pointed to the inadequate trade and economic cooperation between Belarus and Uzbekistan despite good political contacts. The two leaders set a task to increase the trade up to $1 billion.
