Belarus, Kyrgyzstan to share public private partnership experience

MINSK, 28 August (BelTA) – Public private partnership centers of Belarus and Kyrgyzstan will sign a memorandum of cooperation, BelTA learned from representatives of the National Agency of Investment and Privatization of Belarus after a meeting with a Kyrgyz delegation.

The sides intend to start sharing the experience of implementing public private partnership projects.

A presentation of Belarusian laws on public private partnership was arranged on 28 August. Representatives of the Economy Ministry, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and the UNECE Business Advisory Board took part in the meeting.

The public private partnership center of Kyrgyzstan was established on 29 June 2019. International practice indicates that such bodies can help wisely spend budget money. Kyrgyzstan has developed the necessary legal base, three projects are being implemented and about 50 ideas for projects are under consideration.

The Kyrgyz delegation is in Belarus on a two-day visit. While in the country the Kyrgyz guests are also expected to visit the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone.
