MINSK, 10 December (BelTA) - Belarusian manufacturers are featured at major international exhibitions in Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, BelTA learned from the Belinterexpo exhibition company at the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI).
Food Africa Cairo, the food and beverage exhibition, is running in Cairo on 9-11 December. It has brought together more than 380 companies from 33 countries. This is the third time Belarus has taken part in the expo. The new products are showed by such enterprises as the Babushkina Krynka dairy, Milkavita and Rogachev Milk Canning Plant. The exhibition has hosted Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, the country's Minister of Trade and Industry Amr Nassar, Secretary General of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce of Egypt Alaa Ezz, and Ambassador of Belarus to Egypt Sergei Terentyev.
The exhibition "Belarus. The Taste of Nature" has been arranged at SIAL Middle East running in Abu Dhabi from 9 to 11 December. It features the companies affiliated with Belgospishcheprom food industry concern: Kommunarka, Pischevik, Spartak, Gorodeya sugar mill, Krasny Mozyrianin, Mashpishcheprod, Slutsk sugar mill. It also presents handmade chocolate featuring Belarusian landscapes, and also buckwheat, white and acacia honey, organic vegetable marmalade with corn, pumpkin, celery and tomato flavors.
SIAL Middle East is one of the leading food industry expos in the Middle East region. The event is held every two years. This year it features more than 1,000 companies from 30 countries, including Austria, Great Britain, Germany, Greece, Denmark, Italy, Portugal, USA, and Switzerland.
On 5-8 December Belarusian producers took part in another exhibition in Cairo - Cairo Woodshow (one of the key wood processing events in North Africa and the Middle East). Goznak's Paper Mill showcased paper for food products.
The Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce hosted a Belarusian-Egyptian business meeting ahead of Cairo Woodshow and Food Africa Cairo. The Belarusian delegation also visited major retail networks in Egypt and held talks to discuss the supply of products.
The organizer of the Belarusian exhibitions is the Belinterexpo exhibition company at the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The events are supported by the Belarusian Embassy in Egypt, the Agriculture and Food Ministry, Finance Ministry of Belarus, Belgospishcheprom and Bellesbumprom concerns.
