At present, the election commissions have accredited 17,357 national observers, Lidia Yermoshina said. “This is not the limit. Usually we have about 40,000 observers,” the head of the Central Election Commission said. In her opinion, the current figure will increase more than two times.
"According to the CIS observers, the pre-election campaigning period is compliant with the Election Code requirements. Candidates enjoy equal conditions to conduct the pre-election campaign and access to media,” the interim report says.
Top on the agenda of the meeting was the opening of the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Minsk. The diplomatic mission will start operating in the near future. Two Qatari diplomats have already arrived in Belarus to open the embassy.
The decision to update the concept was made at a meeting of the CIS Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs in Minsk in April 2018. There are no plans to radically change the document. The concept will just be brought into line with today's needs and realities.
