MINSK, 17 November (BelTA) – Some observers come to polling stations in order to stage provocations. Member of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Dmitry Shevtsov made the statement on the air of the TV channel Belarus One, BelTA has learned.

“Some observers come to stage a genuine and obvious provocation,” the MP said while talking about headline-making situations involving observers during the current election campaign.

The MP noted that when foreign experts come to observe an election as international observers, they come to share the experience of improving the election system. Meanwhile, the training level of some domestic observers leaves much to be desired sometimes.

“Some of the observers are school graduates. Some of them try to take some fake news, post it in their social network accounts for the sake of hyping themselves. But they fail to see and appreciate the volume of work and responsibility that observers are entrusted with. This is why conflict situations occur,” he noted.
