MINSK, 11 November (BelTA) - The President's Award for Humanism and Spirituality in Cinema was presented to Huang Huang (China), the director and screenwriter of Wushu Orphan. The director received the prize in a ceremony from Belarus Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko, BelTA has learned.
“The themes of humanism and spirituality have a special place in modern cinema,” Huang Huang said. “This helps people not to become indifferent, which is the most important thing. The more of these films we have, the better," the director noted.
The special prize of the city of Minsk went to Father, directors Kristina Grozeva and Petar Valchanov (Bulgaria, Greece).
The Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States presented its special prize "Cinema without Borders" to Kerosene, director Yusup Razykov (Russia).
The Interstate Television and Radio Company Mir gave its prize to director Viktor Asliuk (Belarus) for the film “Patrol”.
Prize of the Guild of Film Critics of the Belarusian Union of Filmmakers "For the ability to express the inexpressible" went to Summa, director Andrei Kutsila.
Special Diploma of the Guild of Film Critics of the Belarusian Union of Filmmakers "For the witty and precise reflection of the Belarusian identity" went to Pure Art, director Maxim Shved.
The awards ceremony of the Minsk International Film Festival Listapad was held in the Moskva movie theater in Minsk on 8 November.
The 26th Minsk International Film Festival Listapad was held in the Belarusian capital on 1-8 November 2019 under the slogan “To Joy”. The program of this year's festival included more than 150 films from 50 countries. Films from Sudan and Senegal debuted at the festival this year. The founders of the festival are the Belarusian Culture Ministry and the Minsk City Hall. The ART Corporation center of visual and performing arts is the organizer of the event.
