Ferdynand Ruszczyc's paintings donated to Belarus' National Art Museum

MINSK, 6 November (BelTA) – Three paintings by Belarus-born artist Ferdynand Ruszczyc have been donated to the National Art Museum of Belarus in the run-up to the 150th anniversary of the artist, BelTA learned from the Facebook page of the Belarusian Embassy in Switzerland.

The paintings were purchased from the artist's grandson, art critic, ex-director of the National Museum of Poland Ferdynand Ruszczyc thanks to the financial assistance of Andrei Nazheskin, Belarus' Honorary Consul to Lausanne.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that the Belarusian Embassy in Switzerland in collaboration with the honorary consuls in Lausanne and Zurich keep working to return Belarusian cultural heritage home. Over the past two years alone, a dozen works by famous Belarus-born artists were taken back to Belarus. Among them are works by Pinchus Kremegne, Nadia Khodasevich Leger, Ossip Lubitch, Michel Kikoine, Grigory Gluckmann.
