MINSK, 11 November (BelTA) - The Minsk International Film Festival Listapad holds the bar high, festival director Anzhelika Krashevskaya told the media in Minsk on 9 November, BelTA has learned.
The Minsk International Film Festival Listapad was accredited by FIAPF 10 years ago. “We once set the bar high and has been sticking to this standard of excellence ever since. The festival has fine reputation. This is the reason why the festival had many applications this year. The main thing for us is to keep it up. They say that the Belarusian cinema has acquired its signature style. I think the film festival has contributed to this," said Anzhelika Krashevskaya said.
According to her, modern cinema should be diverse. “We welcome creative boldness and freedom. This is what we saw in the works that took part in the Youth on the March competition," the festival director said.
The 26th Minsk International Film Festival Listapad was held on 1-8 November 2019 under the slogan “To Joy”. The program of this year's festival included more than 150 films from 50 countries. It featured films from Sudan and Senegal for the first time. The founders of the festival are the Belarusian Culture Ministry and the Minsk City Hall. The ART Corporation center of visual and performing arts is the organizer of the event.
