Match Europe v USA described as main event prior to 2019 IAAF World Championships

According to initiator of this historic match, President of the European Athletics Association Svein Arne Hansen, Minsk has been gradually becoming a big athletics center, while the upcoming match will be the main event in the European sport calendar ahead of the 2019 IAAF World Championships in Doha.

Belarus' Aryna Sabalenka and Elise Mertens of Belgium finished a brilliant season on American hardcourts by winning their first Grand Slam title at the US Open on Sunday, defeating Belarus's Victoria Azarenka and Ashleigh Barty of Australia, 7-5, 7-5.
