The hosts won the second leg of the playoff match 2-0 at Borisov Arena on 29 August. A week ago the Kazakhstan team celebrated a 3-0 victory in Nur-Sultan, which means Astana continues its Europa League run.
The competitions will feature the Belarusian national and junior teams comprising Olympic champions Alla Tsuper and Hanna Huskova, world champion Aliaksandra Ramanouskaya and world bronze medalist Maxim Gustik.
“This is simply a bolt from the blue. We cannot even find words to explain what is happening. It is a total shock for Maryna and the Belarusian Athletics Federation,” Chairman of the Belarusian Athletics Federation Vadim Devyatovsky said.
